Depression is not a taboo

Every one of us go through ups and downs of Life and It’s absolutely okay. Let’s agree to this before reading further.

When we become a prey for depression – we don’t realise that we are going deeper into that ocean (or) we don’t have enough strength/tools to act on it.

The taboo on depression and Mental Wellbeing w.r.t the society -- stops us seek help for it and acceptance towards it.

Recently met a client who had suicidal thoughts often, reached her parents and family for help. She was told to “stay strong” , “ Don’t act this way for such small issue” , “ Psychiatrists are for lunatic” and so on. There are many such ‘US’.

Depression is a startled visitor who comes into our Life for no particular reason. I remember the days after my second son’s birth – his allergy/constipation issues affected me so hard –I dint realise I was going through depression and when my GP mentioned I might be undergoing post-natal depression – I was not even ready to listen to it. A year later – I went through another big challenge (story for later) where I was able to feel my depression. Feeling helpless, lonely, vulnerable etc.,

That’s when I realised the importance of Mental Wellbeing and my Life had a huge transformation. Not only I overcame the challenge, I had a deep learning (as deep as ocean) about the Inner Self. Science behind Self Awareness is one of the pearl I carried while returning from the deep dive.

I started gathering my skills and learning through various courses and sessions. I had no clues then, that I would be using all those tools now for inspiring many people and stand by them until they gain their power back.

We are living in the world of easy information. Everything is at our fingertip. Be cautious about the usage of all the readily available information and don’t overload yourself with it.

Self-Awareness, Confidence and Will Power are the first victims of depression.

Self-help books, Meditation, Exercise, Nature connect, Prayers etc help us to tackle the depression.

Seek help if you are running out of tools and strength. Meditation and Mindfulness are beautiful tools to access your Inner Mastery.

I would humbly request everyone to be present non judgementally and unconditionally for anyone they know who is suffering and not dismiss concerns as frivolous. Thanks for taking time to read this.
